Thinking Day Celebration

February 22nd of each year is a filled with meaningful thoughts from Gil Guides and Girl Scouts all over the world. Today, we honor the joint birthdays of Lord Baden Powell, the Founder of Scouting, and Lady Olave Baden Powell, our World Chief Guide, whose lives of love and services we remember with gratitude. The work begun by them is now our privilege to enjoy and our responsibility to continue.

Today, 10 millions Girl Guides and Girl Scouts in 144 countries from Austria to Austrialia, from Chad to Chile, is celebrating World Thinking Day in some special way: starting the day at the highest part in their locality to watch the sunrise;praying for Girl Guides and Girl Scouts ththroughout the world; by putting their thoughts into action and raising money for Girl Guides and Girl Scouts across the world.

On Thinking Day, distances shrink, age differences vanish, nationalities, cultures and needs blend, people stand united as kind thoughts, love and understanding circle the world. It is also a special time for our reaffirmation of the promise made and rededication to the challenges and task ahead. As the lines in our World Song go..."We must unite for what is right, to give to all both great and small all wecan give."

Thinking Day is not merely ritual; the idea is Thinking and Thinking should make us wan to take action. To them a good turn is an equally valuable gift. Thinking Day gifts take all forms: money, thoughts, actions. It is with sense of unying friendship among ourselves that we unite with those around us to thinkof those membersof the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts who are so far from us yet so close to us in our hearts. This is the moment to renew our efforts to strengthen our network of love, friendship and understanding to make this world a better and happier place to live in.

Thinking Day gives us a major opportunity to help each other through our voluntary efforts. It is for this reason that the Thinking Day Fund was conceived. Every centavo that we share will go a long way to support Girl Guiding/Girl Scouting programs all over the world. Our contributions will strenghten our existence as a World Association.

Cheap Scrubs Uniform

Through facebook, I found my long lost friend and my best friend since childhood. It is true and we communicate regularly since then. It was our dream to be a nurse someday but due to financial problem, I pursue another course. We were separated during our college years, I studied locally and while she moved and continue her studies to another country because her parents.

I have learned that she is already married with two kids and a successful nurse. I congratulate her for believing in her dreams. As her birthday is approaching, I plan to give her a birthday present. However, she asked favor to have a new nursing scrubs uniform instead. She recommends blueskyscrubs.com. It’s good thing that nursing uniform  are affordable, good quality and available online.

Indeed, I found a cheap scrubs uniform that suited to my budget as her birthday presents. I bought one and have it delivered. She is so much grateful for the gift.

Crowd Contol

Recently, we had our council encampment at camp marina. This is one of the GSP highlights before the school year end. This kind of event participated by different districts, schools and universities. It is a four-day event and we had lot of activities and challenges to enjoy.

We had adventure games, trek, swimming, and tour. Most of the activities are in parallel and simultaneous schedule. One of the activities that was memorable to us, when we had our city tour for a whole day. We have to be early before the service bus arrives. While waiting for the bus we stay in line with the help of barricades and velvet rope provided by the bus company.

Hence then, we are too many and crowded there are lot of stanchions installed to avoid commotions. It was a great help to the activity that crowd control equipments was provided by the company to minimized chaos, disorder and turmoil.

Valentine Presents

Last night, before I went home I bought flowers and balloon as Valentine presents for my friend and aunt. I am amazed of what I have seen for those who queued to buy flowers and just to give something for their loved ones this Valentine Day. Although, flowers are a bit expensive on this day however, there are lot of people trying to purchase it.

Wow, the merchandisers had different ways and approaches just to consume their goods particularly that night. Indeed, I bought flowers and balloons in cheapest cost. A red rose that cost 10-15 pesos each and 25 pesos per balloons’ in the morning. I got it for only 30 pesos per balloon, and it comes along with the flower red roses and personalized card. This was a great offer. So, I brought at home 2 sets of valentine presents for my loved ones.

Hope you prepared something? How would you feel about giving your valentine presents to your love ones? Happy Valentine’s Day to all!
