Scouting Candles

These are the set of candles during Investituture

Meaning of candles in girl scouting

The biggest candle represents the Spirit of Scouting.

The 3 candles in the row represents the three parts of the Girl Scouts promise:
  • On my honor; I will fulfill my duty to serve God,
  • My Country and mankind, and
  • To abide by the Girl Scout Law
The 10 candles in the row represents the Girl Scouts Law:
  • The 1st candle represents the first Girl Scout Law; A Girl Scout honor is to be trusted.
  • The 2nd candle represents the second Girl Scout Law, A Girl Scout is loyal.
  • The 3rd candle represents the third Girl Scout Law, A Girl Scout is helpful.
  • The 4th candle represents the fourth Girl Scout Law; A Girl Scout is a friend to all and a sister to every other Girl Scouts.
  •  The 5th candle represents the fifth Girl Scout Law, A Girl Scout is courteous.
  • The 6th candle represents the sixth Girl Scout Law; A Girl Scout respects living things.
  • The 7th candle represents the 7th Girl Scout Law, A Girl Scouts is discipline.
  •  The 8th candle represents the 8th Girl Scout Law, A Girl Scout is self-reliant.
  • The 9th candle represents the 9th Girl Scout Law, A Girl Scout is thrifty.
  • The 10th candle represents the 10th Girl Scout Law; A Girl Scout is clean in thought, words and deeds.
